8@8 Dinners
8@8 dinners, held the second Saturday of each month (September through May), provide an opportunity for Fellowship members and friends to get to know one another in an informal social setting. Participant sign up by the last Sunday of each month with the 8@8 Committee.
Once signed up, participants are allocated to groups as randomly as possible. Although guests not associated with the Fellowship are welcome, children are generally not included. Periodically, a family hosting a Circle Supper will stipulate that children are invited. Also, rides will be arranged if you let your host know that you need one.
8@8 dinners are easy soup-and-salad meals (no main entrees). The host provides soup, bread, coffee, and tea and notifies his/her guests of the food (appetizer, salad, or dessert) each is to bring. Those who enjoy beer or wine can bring some along to share. Participants who must cancel are asked to be respectful of their host and group by either bringing or arranging for someone else to bring their assigned contribution.
The size of the group is determined by the host but usually runs between 6 to 12 guests. We encourage as many people as possible to take the host role from time to time, but we also recognize that some living situations preclude participants from doing so.
