Becoming a Member of the Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The process to become a member of The Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is outlined below.
We encourage potential new members to attend an Orientation Session which is held at various times throughout the year and conducted by our Minister at our fellowship. The orientation allows you to know us better and to meet some of our current members as well as others who are new to the Fellowship. The following is a general overview of the Orientation Session:
Unitarian Universalist and Fellowship History is one of the subjects of the session. Here you will learn a short history of Unitarian Universalism and how the Fellowship was founded and came to reside in our home in Lafayette. Principles and Purposes of Unitarian Universalism and How to Get Involved in the Fellowship are also discussed. Generally this session addresses our principles and purposes on a more personal level. The various activities of the Fellowship are also highlighted.
Make a commitment of time, energy, and money to your religious journey and to the Fellowship. This includes helping with Sunday morning volunteer tasks a few times during each year. Meet with our interim minister, The Reverend Arthur Severance. Sign the Membership Book. Our Minister and membership co-chairs are available on selected Sundays each month for signing. This can also be done at the Orientation Session described above or at other times as arranged. Contact the Member/Visitor Committee to make arrangements. New members will receive a packet of information about the Fellowship including the most current Membership Directory. We will also ask you for your address, email, and phone numbers, which, if you permit, will appear in Connections (our monthly newsletter) so that our other members will be able to know who you are. Participate in a New Member Recognition Sunday Service, which is held twice per year.
Path to Membership is an outline of the steps to becoming a member or rejoining the Fellowship.
