Procedures when writing checks to BVUUF
We are experiencing confusion and time-consuming phone calls when trying to determine the purpose of checks mailed to BVUUF and collected on Sundays. Therefore we are requesting that the following guidelines be used on all checks to BVUUF:
1. Pledge checks – Please write ‘pledge’ on the memo line of your check or have your financial institution note ‘pledge’ somewhere on the electronic check they are issuing on your behalf.
2. Plate checks (including 1/2 plate checks) – please write ‘plate’ or ’1/2 plate’ and the name of the organization for which we are collecting money that week, in the memo line of your check.
3. Other checks – checks in payment of auction items, A-RE events, classes, day camp, etc. – please write what it’s for in the memo line.
How Checks Without Notation Will Be Credited – * If received by mail – they will be applied to donor’s pledge * If received in the plate on Sunday – they will be applied to the half plate collection, ie 1/2 going to BVUUF and 1/2 to the organization of the week.
Checks made payable to BVUUF and with the name of the 1/2 Plate Organization in the memo line will be treated as a 1/2 plate donation with 1/2 going to BVUUF and 1/2 to the organization of the week.
If you wish to make a 100% donation to the organization receiving the 1/2 plate for the week, please make your check payable to that organization
and we will mail your check to the organization along with the 1/2 plate donation collected that week.
If you wish to make a donation to a 1/2 plate organization past the Sunday for which it was designated, please call the office for the appropriate address of the organization and mail the check to them.
If you have questions please call Carol (in the office) 303-665-4280, x100.
