Help Wanted for the Harvest Home Celebration & Auction
Heather Marshall
The Auction is turning Sweet Sixteen and the Fellowship is throwing a party to celebrate. For the first time, our annual auction will be an evening event, complete with food, drinks and entertainment! And we’ve chosen Harvest Home as a theme for the bounty we share by coming together at the Fellowship. Stay tuned for more information.
In the meantime, the Auction Committee is hard at work and needs a few more able bodies to join our smooth-running machine. Thankfully, we have every aspect of the Auction mapped out, so when you volunteer, you will know exactly what to do and how long it will take. (Best of all, the Auction is a once-a-year volunteer event, so it’s less of a time commitment.)
In addition, we have a wonderful new group of people serving on the Committee and there is lots of good energy and fun to be found.
Contact Heather Marshall if you can come on board as one of the three open positions:
Volunteer Coordinator who will:
- Recruit volunteers for small, specific, AND already defined tasks
- Help organize and assign volunteers (Again, very defined, just follow our roadmap)
- Organize training of Auction table monitors
Food Coordinator who will:
- Recruit our amazing Fellowship cooks to prepare a delectable appetizer/dessert
- potluck
- Head up the group of foodies already on board to help
Theme/Décor Coordinator who will:
- Help create a look for our new theme: the Harvest Home Celebration and Auction
- Find other creative types who can make us “ooh and aah” over decorations, posters, favors, etc.
The more hands involved, the lighter the job will be. Help us make our first Harvest Home Celebration & Auction a night to remember!
Homeless Shelter Server Coordinator
Rusty Robison
Be the Coordinator for serving meals once a month at Boulder Homeless Shelter. Coordinators(s) will attend yearly training at the homeless shelter, publicize, oversee sign-up sheet, send out reminders to volunteers, and serve dinner at the shelter once a month once or twice during the year (optional). No specific experience required, just willingness to coordinate these volunteers and attend the training. Time commitment, 1-2 hours per month and 4 hours once a month if you also serve dinner. Training is in September on a Saturday and the program runs from Oct thru April. To step up, contact Program Coordinating Council chair, Kathy Partridge.
BVUUF Personnel Committee Members Wanted!
Natalie Parker
Do you have some experience in reviewing resumes, writing and submitting brief job descriptions and ads, interviewing possible new hires, or some knowledge of human resources? The Personnel Committee wants you! You don’t have to have to have a lengthy background in these areas because the pooled experience and knowledge always works well when committee members put their heads together.
The committee serves on an as-needed basis rather than on a regular monthly meeting schedule. Typically, committee members have worked closely with the minister, the office administrator, the music coordinator and/or the religious education director, depending on the actions needed to be taken. Additionally, the Personnel Committee has an advanced draft of a new personnel policy manual that committee members will complete together in the near future.
This committee is fun and very interesting! Please email Natalie Parker to let us know that you would like to join.

Wednesday Evening Host(ess) with the Most(est)
Kathy Partridge
Show your hospitality skills as a coordinator of our Fellowship suppers on Wednesday evenings. Host(s) will set the menu, publicize, oversee set-up and organize clean-up, coordinating with RE, committees, and staff. No specific experience required, just willingness to make these evenings enjoyable for our community. This job can be shared. Time commitment, 1-3 hours for each week. Duration, through the church year, could be ongoing. To step up, contact Program Coordinating Council chair, Kathy Partridge.
Urgent: Calling all Landscape Artists, Gardeners, and Outdoor Lovers
Kathy Partridge
Pitch in to keep our outdoor spaces neat and safe. This important service not only creates beautiful, peaceful and fun surroundings for our congregational home, but also saves BVUUF money that would be required in hiring groundskeeping staff. Project management skills and/or gardening knowledge are a plus for person(s) to coordinate the overall plan. This coordinator role is a leadership position of several hours per month, a year commitment would be desirable. Others with willing hands are needed to take on specific, limited duration tasks with flexible time commitments. To step up, contact Program Coordinating Council chair, Kathy Partridge.
