Youth Ministry
(6th – 12th Graders)
Overview
Junior Youth Group
Sundays 9am & 11am (during services)
This group (ages 11-14) will explore and visit different religions and places of worship in the area. On other Sundays we will go bowling and play games.
Outside of Sunday mornings, there is a district-wide retreat in January and regular social nights co-planned by youth.
Senior Youth
Our high schoolers are fully integrated into the life of the Fellowship as RE teachers, worship associates, and committee members. Please let Emily Conger know if you would like support in getting involved.
Sundays at 9 and 11am high school youth are welcome to join the Jr. Youth Group, attend the service, become a worship associate, and/or help with Children’s RE classes.
Special Classes
8th Grade Coming of Age
Tuesdays 6:30-8pm
Coming of Age celebrates the transition from childhood to youth – the time when people come of age. The teenage years are a time of tremendous growth and change. Throughout history, many cultures marked this human passage with rituals, learning, testing, and celebration; we’ll do the same. We will have two retreats to bookend the program and have classes where we’ll help the youth tackle the “big questions” and develop their faith statements. These faith statements are presented to the fellowship on Youth Sunday, each spring.
9th Grade Trip to Hopi/Navaho Lands
Meet once a month at local UU congregations.
For the 48th year, ninth graders from Front Range UU congregations meet for retreats and classes that culminate in a 10-day trip to Hopi and Navaho Lands.
