Beatrix Potter Nursery
We provide a nursery for infants and toddlers ages 0 — 30 months old, supervised by our nanny, Megan, and a teen helper staffer, located in the first classroom on the left in the R.E. Hall.
Nursery Policies:
Personal Needs
Children should bring their own bottles or sippy cups, diapers and a change of clothes to the nursery. Children are not given food while in the nursery.
Parent Call
Parents will be called out of the service for a diaper change or an inconsolable child. We do not want our babies to be sad! If possible, please give your cell phone number to Megan, and set your phone on vibrate. Otherwise, please sit in the back in case we need to get you.
Ratio
We maintain a ratio of 1:4 in our nursery. If for some reason, there are more children than we can safely accommodate, we may ask for a parent helper to stay.
Safety and Health
Please let Megan know about any medical conditions or other issues about your baby that we should be aware of.
Please be sensitive to other families and do not bring a sick baby into the nursery.
Please let us know about any contagious diseases that crop up later in the week so that we may alert other families.
We ask parents to sign up to wash toys in the Nursery and Cuddle Room every other week. Parents can take them home or wash them at UUF.
Staff
Our Nanny, Megan Sitlington, is trained in CPR and abides by the Safety Policy of UUF, which mandates two adult or teen teachers in every classroom. She is a CU graduate and works at Boulder Community Hospital in the Pediatrics Ward. In addition, she provides nanny care for several UUF families. She comes highly recommended and has several friends who also like to babysit.
For your older children, see our Religious Education program.
