Our Elected Reps
BVUUF Board
The BVUUF Board of Officers and Trustees is comprised of four Officers and six Trustees, all active members in good standing of the Fellowship. Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected by the congregation for one-year terms, while Trustees are elected for three-year terms, staggered so that two positions expire each year. Elections are usually held in May; terms begin July 1, allowing for some overlap between departing and new Officers and Trustees. The Board meets monthly, at a minimum. The past President and the Minister are ex-officio members of the Board.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee consists of six members who have been nominated by the Board and elected by the membership to serve for three years, with staggered terms. Each year the President designates a second or third-year member of the Committee for a one-year term as chair. The Fellowship’s immediate Past President also serves on the Committee—ex officio, but with vote. Any member completing a full term is not eligible for immediate reelection. The Committee’s charge is to nominate candidates to become Officers and Trustees of the Fellowship and present the slate prior to the Annual Business Meeting in the spring. At the same meeting, the Fellowship votes on two new Board-nominated candidates for Nominating Committee to assume the three-year terms being vacated by the longest-serving members.
Minister Advisory Group
The Minister Advisory Group is comprised of six people who meet with our minister during her first months of serving our congregation (2007-8). Among the Group’s original members were some who had served on the Search Committee and one from the former Ministerial Relations Committee. This Advisory Group provides advice and counsel to the Minister and serves as a communication channel between the congregation and the minister. The Advisory Group replaces the Fellowship’s Ministerial Relations Committee and will propose a charter for a new Committee on Ministry.
