January – Prophecy

I wanted to change the world. But I have found
that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself.” ~ Aldous Huxley
As Unitarian Universalists we try and seek out truth. We believe that each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life.  We may not believe someone can predict the future but we do want to know about truths that create the future.
Exploring what is true and right for us individually is important and this month will be a time to imagine what the world, and our Boulder Valley Fellowship might be if we were creating the future. The children and youth will have an opportunity to provide input for the Interim RE Start Up, to be held on Saturday, February 11.
Our SpiritJams this month will guide us on an adventure of discovery to wonder about ways to be the best we can be.  We will explore prophetic voices such as Martin Luther King Jr.; have a chance to “DO” something, not just talk about it with a simple social justice project; and practice the art of compassionate communication.
We hope you, young and old alike, will come explore with us. We are a wise group and can learn as much about ourselves as we spend time in community with others – of all ages.
