9 and 11 a.m. Children’s Chapels; K-6th “Introducing the Bible Stories” with Katie and Fiona Freeman-Grundei. Are they truth, fiction, or somewhere in between? Actually, they are the kind of stories that may not be true on the outside, but true on the inside. This was the definition of myth as told to me by a 3rd grader.
We will sing “Who Did Swallow Jonah?” and other songs about bible stories. Plus this one, sung to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me”
Love surrounds me this I know because my spirit tells me so,
All of us to love belong, it fills our hearts and makes us strong.
Yes, Love surrounds me.
Yes, Love surrounds me.
Yes, Love surrounds me,
My spirit tells me so.
That’s what I mean by “Bible Tales Through a U.U. lens.” If you’d like to join in the fun, let me know. I’d love to share your reflections and insights, since I grew up U.U. in an atheist and humanist church, so my knowledge of the Bible could be expanded.
