“Lift and Lighten” – that’s it, and it is what I leave with you today –
Lift one another up and lighten the load of others.
I believe it is what we are called to do in this life – whether in relationship with a partner, a fellow congregant or another being.
I have made mistakes and was not always my best self, but I am blessed by this community where I had the opportunity to grow. Thank you.
I hope the Boulder Valley UU Fellowship has been lifted during my time as your interim director. We met as strangers, but say goodbye as friends – for that I am grateful.
From the book
A Grateful Heart: Daily Blessings for the Evening Meal from Buddha to the Beatles,
Tonight we give thanks for the great gift of friendship and in particular for my dear friends [at BVUUF.] Thank you for the circumstances that brought us together and have bound us into the sacred bundle of life. Thank you also for the gifts of our friendship: for knowledge that comforts, for words that encourage, for insight that blesses, for all the experiences shared, for the sweet bliss of deeply knowing each other in so many ways; for history and a hope of the future, for conversation and laughter, for silence, for bearing each other’s witness truly, for holding each other safe in our hearts with great love and tenderness.
-Daphne Rose Kingma
May it be for you and for the world – I love you, Peace, De Anna
