Called to ministry after years as a community organizer in San Francisco, Rev. Lydia brings her passion for justice and deep love of people into everything she does.
“Live Freely, Love Boldly, Tread Softly” These words guide Rev. Lydia Ferrante-Roseberry’s life and ministry.
The Rev. Lydia Ferrante-Roseberry was chosen by the congregation in April 2007 to serve as our settled minister (and she chose us as well!). Rev. Lydia moved to Colorado with her family in the summer of 2007 to begin her ministry with Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Lafayette. Rev. Lydia lives with husband, Phil Roseberry, and children —Talia and Angelo —just west of Lafayette in Nyland Co-housing.
Rev. Lydia introduced herself to us in the spring of 2007 as follows:
I am a devoted wife and mother to two young children.
I am a Unitarian Universalist minister, ordained in 2000 by the UU Church of Oakland, California, the congregation that loved me into ministry.
I am a former associate minister for social justice for a UCC Church in Hayward, California.
I am the first (and former) “Weekend Minister” for our UU Fellowship in Chico, California, piloting program for the Pacific Central District (PCD).
I am a former President of the PCD UU Ministers Association.
I am a community organizer.
I am an advocate for peace.
I am a long-time leader and member of a women’s ritual circle.
I am a compassionate soul.
I am eyes that cry for both the pain and the promise of the world.
I am hands that love to cook and arms that love to hug.
I am a body that loves to walk, hike, sing, and dance.
I am a mind that loves to think creatively with people.
I am a lover of the possibilities of congregational life.
Rev. Lydia has introduced the congregation to InterPlay; she leads an InterPlay-shop on the first Saturday morning of each month. You’re invited; please see the event calendar.
Lydia welcomes your email.
