9 and 11 a.m. Preschool/Nursery- “Lemon the Duck” With Juliette Mettes, high school staff, and helper needed, 9 a.m., and Morgan Sherwood at 11 a.m. Taking care of others with different abilities. Based on a true story of how some schoolchildren took care of the duckling who had problems walking.
9 a.m. Kindergarten – 6th Grade – “Bible Tales – Jonah” with TBA. A blanket over a table will create the whale in which the children can be swallowed. What is it like to be in the belly of a whale?
8:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. – 7/8th Grade Our Whole Lives meets today.
9 a.m. 7-12th grades – Attend the service or help with a younger grade.
10:10 a.m. Youth and Chalice Singers Perform today in the services.
10 – 11 a.m. Playground – Monitors Needed.
11 a.m. Kindergarten – Third Grade “Bible Tales – Jonah” with Lu Wright and John Hoebel.
11 a.m. 4th – 6th Grade – Join with the Youth Group to play “Salad Bowl!”
11 a.m. 7th – 12th grade Youth Group – “Salad Bowl” game from the UUA’s compendium of Youth Group Building Games “Deep Fun” with Emily Conger.
12:15 8/9th Grade Coming of Age – “Visits from Congregational Leaders” Our BVUUF leaders will help the COAers learn about the various parts of the congregation, and will help them figure out how they would like to deepen their ties – such as be a Worship Associate, a musician, sound tech, greeter, etc.

Announcements:
Children’s Book Cart! Thanks to Gail Evertz, the Children’s Book Cart is ready! The cart is similar to the cart of adult books at Unity Plaza. There are picture books, chapter books, YA books, and parenting books. Donations of books, CD’s and DVD’s welcome, bring to the RE office. Books will be sold for $1 or “whatever it is worth to you” to benefit the School of the Spirit Fund. Personally, if it is a Little House on the Prairie book, I’d donate a million dollars!
Summer Arts Jam, June 2-6, 2014. Our popular Day Camp for Preschool – 5th graders. Come immerse yourself in Unitarian Universalism and the Arts. Registration is now online. Recommended Preschool Books – I am collecting great book ideas for an update to the Chalice Children curriculum for the UUA. I’d be grateful to see any books you’ve loved and promise to return them in a week!
Easter Can Hunt needs a head rabbit! This simple event after each service on Easter Sunday, April 20, is described here. We hunt for cans of food to benefit Boulder County AIDS project food pantry. Youth Group hides the cans. Interested? Contact Katie.
Pilot for SpiritJam, Sunday mornings 9 and 11 a.m., March 9, 16, and 23. SpiritJam is a new model for the Sunday School hour, cooked up by me, Katie. We will offer “Tinkerjam,” “MusicJam,” “BodyJam” and “ServiceJam” as 30 minute activity choices for the March theme of “Justice.” SpiritJam is offered for ages Kindergarteners through Youth.
NOTE CHANGES for the 3 Sunday Pilot:
1) Children will start in the Pauling Room for “CircleJam” with me (not in the Sanctuary), for the Sharing Circle. Then, there will be two or three choices of 30 minutes each.
2) SpiritJam will last until 15 minutes past the hour. Parents are invited to enjoy the coffeehour until 10:15 a.m. or 12:15 p.m.
3) Kindergarteners are invited to “SpiritJam” or to the Beatrix Potter Nursery – Kindergarten Room, whichever would make them most comfortable.
I am happy to report that we have been awarded a grant of $2,600.00 to help develop the SpiritJam Model. The grant comes from the 21st Century Fund of my professional organization, LREDA (Liberal Religious Directors Assn.) Yippee! I appreciate your feedback for this pilot. There will be an online survey and a paper one available.
Mini-Care Packages – Donations are needed for 3/23 ServiceJam project – small travel items like toothpaste, soap, tissues, comb, candle, matches, emergency blanket, razor, wet wipes, First Aid, hand sanitizer, granola bars, small deodorant, cracker packages, thin gloves, bus passes, etc. that will be packed in a ziploc bag and handed out to congregants willing to keep them in their purse or glove compartment to give to the homeless. There is a donations box next to the RE Bulletin Board in the RE hall.
