  • This week’s half plate benefits I Have a Dream of Boulder County (IHAD), which works to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term intervention program of mentoring, tutoring, and cultural enrichment. Upon graduation from high school, each Dreamer is eligible to receive a last-dollar, four-year tuition-assistance scholarship for college or vocational school. IHAD Boulder County has six active classes and two fully graduated classes. Well over 400 children and their families have been assisted so far by IHAD and there is potential for the “adoption” of many more schools in the future. Many of the Dreamers do community service work within Boulder County to give back to their communities.
