Missed Jamil’s extraordinary sermon last Sunday? Hear it at online in our audio sermon archive. He combines his roots in the “Sanctified” (Pentecostal) Church of Mississippi with his Buddhism and Unitarian Universalism to give a visionary call for justice to our congregation. He received a standing ovation at the end of the service. We are so proud of him and know that he will make an impact on our denomination.

Jamil has been awarded one of three national Fahs Fellowships at Meadville Lombard Seminary for a year. The Fahs Fellows are global thinkers and curriculum innovators in faith development with an important message to share. Fellows are intentionally selected with an eye toward insight and innovation, serving both as “public intellectuals” who speak on issues that are pressing within the profession of religious education, yet also offering pedagogical strategies that have potential to breathe fresh air into how we teach, learn, and grow.
