9 and 11 a.m. Full Community Gathering in the Sanctuary, first 15 minutes. Preschool/Nursery will be open.

9  a.m. School of the Spirit

9 a.m. Puppet Preschool/Nursery- “Rabbit’s Gift” The puppets learn about being generous. With Juliette Mettes and Emily Soder, high school staffers, and Talia Ferrante-Roseberry, helper.

9 a.m. Kindergarten – 6th Grade: World Religions – Buddhism “Tenzin’s Gift “  Evan Kneale and Sarah Pritchard start the Buddhism section with a book about a Tibetian boy who befriends an injured deer, and must learn that compassion includes giving her freedom.

9 a.m. 1st/2nd Grade Our Whole Lives (OWL) Human SexualityAlcott Room with Renee Price, David Judd and Carol Hughes, leaders. Class is closed to promote trust and confidentiality.

8:45 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. 7/8th Our Whole Lives (OWL) Human Sexuality Barnum Room with Heather Munro, Jamil Scott, Emily Conger and Scott McCollom. Class is closed to promote trust and confidentiality. Today is a guest panel.

9 a.m. 7-12th grade youth are welcome to help in the Children’s Chapel or attend the service.

10:00 a.m. School of the Spirit

Family Meditation Practice –  “TBD – leader needed”, 10:15 a.m. – 10: 40 a.m. Pauling. Bring a cushion or blanket for the Pauling Room.

Nature Playground – Stephanie Pache and Volunteer needed, playground monitors 10 – 11 a.m.  Volunteers – Sign up online or on the clipboard in the RE hall to enjoy the fall sunshine and help keep our playground safe.

11 a.m. Kindergarten – 3rd Grade: Picture Book World Religions: Buddhism “Tenzin’s Gift “  Laura McCollom and TA needed start the Buddhism section with a book about a Tibetian boy who befriends an injured deer, and must learn that compassion includes giving her freedom.

11 a.m. 4-6th Grades: “Hanukkah “ with Katie Covey and Fiona Freeman-Grundei.  Come gamble M&M’s with the dreydls (tops) in this traditional Hanukkah game while we hear about the Jewish holiday. Hanukkah’s 2nd of 8 days falls on Thanksgiving this year!

11 a.m. Youth Group 7-12th Grades:  Travel Altars with Altoid Tins,  check out Emily Conger’s Youth Ministry Blog 

12:15 p.m. School of the Spirit

12:15 p.m. 8/9th Coming of Age – “Exploring Values” with Laura Murray and David Hughes.

Announcements:

School of the Spirit celebrates “Hospitality” and provides bagels and donuts at Unity Plaza this Sunday – plus there will be an opportunity to register your infant/child/youth online and volunteer as a Teaching Assistant or Playground Monitor. Finally, you are invited to join the Children and Youth RE Committee and provide grassroots ideas and program support. (This group is the origin of the Intergen Book Chats, the Firecircle Sing-a-long, and the Pumpkin Glow!)  The CYRE Committee meets first Sundays of the month at 12:20 p.m. for 1 1/2 hours, plus one Saturday retreat in the summer. Come be creative with the CYRE Committee.

Your ethnic heritage and bread: Sign up online to bring a bread from your ethnic heritage for our Annual Sharing of Breads Service, Sunday, 11/24.

Child Dedication for Christmas Eve Services, 3 and 5 p.m. Dec. 24. Interested in having your baby or child dedicated in U.U. tradition? Christmas Eve is one of the times we offer this ceremony. Contact Katie if you are interested. Read more about child dedications on the UUA website.

 

Registration is open for  Chalica Winter Break CampSunday Dec. 29, 1 -4 p.m. , Monday, Dec. 30 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (with before and after care available) and Tues. Dec. 31, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Day Camp for Kindergarteners – 5th Graders, and Preschoolers with parent attending.  Don’t go crazy over the winter break, join us for the canvas labyrinth,  swimming at the Rec Center, and Stone Soup as we celebrate our U.U. identity! Registration is now open online!
