Rev. Dr. Barbara Coeyman (she/her)
Interim Minister

minister@bvuuf.org

I am deeply honored to be part of a congregation such as BVUUF with a deep sense of shared ministry, and a commitment to social justice and the stewardship of Mother Earth through your new green building. I will strive to follow well in the footsteps of Rev. Lydia.

I love Unitarian Universalist interim ministry and am excited to share your transitioning journey with you, as you continue your discernment about who you are and where you want to go in the future.

BVUUF is my eighth congregation, most of them two-year ministries. I am an Accredited Interim Minister (AIM) with the UUA, and a Transition Specialist through the interfaith Interim Ministry Network. About five years ago, I earned credentialling with the Center for Courage and Renewal, an international program for spiritual deepening based on the writing of Parker Palmer. I look forward to telling you more about “Circles of Trust,” sponsored by this Center, which I can offer to congregations during interim time. I graduated from Austin (TX) Presbyterian Seminary in 2001 and have been in full UU ministerial fellowship since 2007. I recently served as the interim at the UU Fellowship of Durango, CO.

The mountains of Colorado are an important source of spiritual renewal for me, whether hiking, skiing, or just viewing out my living room window. Another spiritual practice for me is social dance, particularly contradance and English Country Dance: I look forward to reconnecting with dance groups in this greater Boulder / Denver area I knew several years ago. I also look forward to living closer to family in Denver.
