Sue Hankins

Sue grew up in Minnesota in the United Church of Christ denomination. She’s been a Unitarian Universalist for many years, participating in fellowships in many roles and committees (Religious Education, Membership, Finance). Her UU home congregations are in Auburn, AL, Blacksburg, VA, and Fayetteville, AR.

Sue studied math at St. Olaf College, and Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan.  Her work experiences vary from canoe outfitting in the Boundary Waters in MN to staffing a Community Foundation in VA, teaching classes in ergonomics and safety at Auburn University to working in an auditory laboratory at Virginia Tech.

She lives in Louisville with her husband Russ, their two kids, a high schooler at Centaurus and a middle schooler in Louisville.  They lived in Austria for a year while Russ was on sabbatical so she’s always looking for ways to support her kids’ German learning.  She enjoys reading, knitting, walking her dog and canoeing with her family.
