April 10

“A Thin Place”
Rev. Lydia Ferrante-Roseberry, preaching; Brian Kenyon, Worship Associate
What’s the purpose of gathering on Sunday mornings? Most of us don’t “worship” something or someone that we believe requires our adoration. And yet we gather in search of a time and space apart – something to help us through trials and tribulations and give us hope and inspiration. Christian theologian Marcus Borg invites us to experience our worship as “thin places” where one can “momentarily glimpse the reality of the sacred.” During this service, explore the many meanings and aspirations inherent in our weekly gatherings.

This Sunday’s Half-Plate: Tariro: Hope and Health for Zimbabwe’s Orphans. Founded in 2003, Tariro works to prevent the spread of HIV by educating young women and girls. Nominated by Janet Meyer.
