• This Sunday’s Half Plate offering will go to The Mountain Desert District Freedom Fund. The Fund was established by the First Universalist Church (Denver) in 1984 when Colorado voted to end Medicaid funding for abortions. The Freedom Fund seeks to ensure that all Colorado women have equal access to reproductive options and are empowered to exercise their right for reproductive self-determination. For the past 27 years, the Freedom Fund has provided financial assistance to those women who make the difficult decision to have an abortion. In recent years the fund has helped over 300 women each year.
